In what could be the biggest Bridal show scam ever, updates and information has been difficult if not impossible to obtain, as the scammers, still at large, evade the Boston Police and FBI. Since the news broke just about a week ago, the story has grown cold and the scammers have seemingly skipped away.
“The Story has died,” said Bill Heaton of Great Bridal Expo , the self-proclaimed biggest Bridal Show on earth. Heaton has been active trying to make certain the debacle in Boston does not reflect poorly on the bridal show business. “There are banks closing everyday in the world, does that make all banks bad?” said Heaton. According to Heaton, communications with the Boston Police Department has not been the best, as his desire to assist them has not be very well received.
Readers and supporters, even sponsors of eWedNews have mentioned the lack of new information since the story broke. One sponsor, Phyllis Cheung said,” It is unfortunate that hundreds of wedding vendors and thousands of brides were scammed by the Boston 411 Spring Home & Bridal Show. In a gesture of goodwill, My Wedding Concierge would like to offer every wedding vendor that was affected by this scam, a complimentary one year ad on their website and iPhone app. Proof of intent to exhibit at the show will be required.”
Phyllis and others continue to monitor the events and remain committed to making certain the wedding industry moves past this unfortunate incident and learns a valuable lesson from it. eWedNews will continue to monitor this story and report any new findings, as they happen.
