Moonlight photo shoot to feature men’s formal wear by Lauren, Klein and Abboud.

By Paul Pannone

The men’s formal wear category is poised to return to greatness after nearly a decade of decline. The overall use of traditional formal wear has been steadily shifting towards casual looks and the use of non-formal wear sanctioned products, as society standards decline.. But also, consolidation of the tuxedo business and lack of new style innovation are to blame for the decline.

Moonlight Bridal and FLOW Formals have combined to shoot their latest lines of Prom and Wedding looks for 2011 in New York City in June, promising to again result in highly sophisticated looks to be used in ad campaigns that include prominent wedding magazines. This year a greater use of Social Networking are expected for both companies. The news comes at the heel of a new study showing the growing use of Bridal Magazines in wedding planning.

Moonlight has been successfully marketing their products for years but for FLOW the project is is new. Flow is undergoing a massive overhaul of all their systems and is expected to announce some major advancement in the next 60 days. “Until now there hasn’t been anything really new or must-have for our business to get excited about,” said Noel Feldman of Flow. “Next season is going to be much different; we’re improving all of our fashion brand looks and re-launching all our basic looks improving the fit, updating silhouette, garment expression and lapels. The improvements are going to be noticeable and become important to our customers again and reach the end consumer,”according to Feldman.

Flow has been successful with their Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein labels and this year added Joseph Abboud to create an astounding line up of branded fashion products. This week Flow completed a deal to add accessories to their offerings, completing the company’s four-year attempt to create the tuxedo industry’s definitive source of products.

“We’re excited about this and are happy that tuxedos are again becoming important. They’ve long been an integral part and enhancement to the dress,” feels Jim Duhe of Bridal Guide magazine. “We’ve enjoyed working with some of the formal wear people in the past and have watched their struggles. We’re always happy to do whatever we can for them. As far as Moonlight goes, they know how to market and advertise their beautiful collections so well and do a really fine job in all they do,” says Duhe.

The shoot takes place in New York City from June 3rd to the 10th. eWedNews will be there to cover the story and bring you an exclusive behind-the-scene perspective.
