Knot stock price gets bump from baby talk.

By Paul Pannone

A co-branded collaboration between ForbesWoman.com and TheBump.com has reportedly created what was called a one-of-a-kind survey involving motherhood and employment. The effort polled over 2,000 women from 30 to 34 and gave a clearer picture of today’s working mom’s views on motherhood and their working careers.

The in-depth survey revealed how motherhood impacted the career of women that had children and how they felt returning to work afterwards. Highlights of the findings include 76% of respondents feeling the “sweet spot” for a working woman to have or adopt her first baby is between ages 25 and 34. 42 percent thought that 25 to 29 was the best time.

The Bump (www.thebump.com), a multiplatform brand focusing on first-time moms, was created in February, 2008 when the Knot acquired a group of local magazines and maternity guides in 11 cities. Forbes Woman (www.forbeswoman.com) is a website for career-minded women. The co-branding effort is felt to be the start of a new trend to combine resources between companies in projects that will produce positive, non-competing results to like audiences they administer to.

The Knot, Inc. ( NASDAQ:KNOT) stock price has nearly recovered since announcing they had renegotiated their lucrative online retail arrangement with Macy’s in February. The Knot stock price closed at 7.73, up .30 cents a share or 4.4% in today’s trading.
