With tens-of-millions of phones sold and growing, billions (thousands of millions) of phone apps are reportedly being downloaded, as the market explodes. So why is the wedding business reportedly lagging behind?

Unless you’re in the men’s formal wear business you’ve probably never heard of FLOW formals. But for certain you have heard of the world-famous brands they offer; Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and to a much lesser degree their recently acquired label, Joseph Abboud. eWedNews has learned that FLOW is planning a campaign to raise awareness to both their brands and their category, after formal wear has taken a huge hit in popularity dating back to 2002.

The debate of whether bridal shows and other forms of traditional marketing to consumer brides rages on; eWedNews coverage is creating discussions on the topic that are bringing to light some good points. Comments posted by Bridal Show producers are focused and channeled towards the value of their shows, yet no one has yet accepted the challenge of discussing their views by returning a telephone call.

The leading advertising and media resources in the Garden State are coming together for a networking event and facility presentation. The first event took place in December 2008 at Solar do Minho Banquet Center in Roselle Park, the second was in April 2009 at the Skylands at Randolph, followed by an event at Branches in W. Long Branch in July 2009 and the last event of 2009 took place in October at Paris Caterers at The Palace in Blackwood. All four were a huge success, attracting from 200-300 wedding professionals throughout the tri-state area. Now The Landmark in East Rutherford, NJ is opening its' doors for an enjoyable evening and networking event on Tuesday, April 27th from 6-9 pm.

Readers following the TheKnot.com clicked to read about the decision of the their registry partner, Macy's, trying to sell off their shares and interest in the company. The story Knot left readers and onlookers to form their own opinions and was the number one story of the week.

Mywedding.com has embarked on a growth campaign that is taking shape and producing results for its ownership. eWedNews has learned that the company is not only celebrating their move to a new location in Castle Rock, CO office next week but feel they are also beginning of a new era for the company.

Bridal Show Producers International (BSPI) members meet in Las Vegas next week for their annual event. Just under 100 members are expected to convene and face the growing challenges and discuss possible solutions involving a myriad of topics brought about by the recession and its lingering effects.
